surveillance console detail (Surveillance Console)

Surveillance Console

A surveillance console is a physical world object. Its commands are available
only while you are standing with that console and have permission to operate
it. There is no global surveillance command surface.

Use:

    surveillance

to list the cameras bound to that console's surveillance system.

Use:

    surveillance monitor C01

to inspect the current camera state and most recently stored visible event.

Use:

    surveillance playback C01

to list recent timestamped recordings for that camera.

Use:

    surveillance playback C01 P01

to view one listed recording.

If this console separately grants hardware-control permission:

    surveillance disable C01
    surveillance enable C01

If it separately grants footage-erasure permission:

    surveillance erase C01 P01
    surveillance erase C01 all

Viewing, hardware control and footage erasure are three independent console
permissions. A console may grant any subset.

The short Cxx and Pxx identifiers are presentation-only and are valid only for
the current console display. They are not permanent camera or recording IDs.

Recorded footage preserves what the camera could observe at capture time.
Later recognition may label a previously seen apparent identity, but playback
does not reveal a hidden canonical Character identity.

If your attention is currently immersed in the NET, use the appropriate local
datafort camera interface instead of the physical console.

Individual consoles may be denied by local security policy even when the
console is physically present.
